Bob
Noakes had worked at the Irish state broadcaster RTE sometime prior to
joining Radio Caroline in June 1973.
He stayed with Caroline for a year and
then, in June 1974, became the final DJ/engineer to join RNI. Although the
station closed about a month after he joined, he stayed with the
ship until October 1974, when the Dutch Authourities impounded the vessel. He joined the Voice of Peace (off the Israeli coast) in the summer of 1975 as DJ/engineer. He then returned to Holland were he as lived ever since. He returned to the Voice of Peace for a stint in 1985. |

In the mid 90's he and a business partner obtained a local radio licence in Holland but never actually started a station only running non stop music. They give up the licence after being unable to raise sufficient funds. Bob appeared on the first RNI RSL in 1999 and still lives in Holland. |
